Reevu Helmets: Available in Germany?

Even though I speak almost no German, your moderator (thanks Andreas) helped me through the login process so here's my first post.

FYI.. I usually hang out at the US counterpart... http://www.I-BMW.com but I'd like to hear what you guys/ladies have to say... Hopefully a few of you will speak a little English. I'll assume the German education system is better at teaching foreign languages than our pitiful US system...

Anyway... Have spoken with Reevu Helmet owner, Graham Steele at http://www.reevu.com/ and they refuse to ship one of their new "rear-view helmets to the US... I'm currently trying to locate a shop that will..

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Has anyone actually tried one of these? Are they available in Germany? To me.. if this helmet works as advertised and is comfortable.. it could be the finest helmet to ever hit the market...

Any help/feedback would be appreciated... Danke schön

Hi Jerry,

I tried these helmets this spring in Dortmund. The mirrors dosen`t work very well, you can see something but you cant`t realy see what it is.....

You has to roll up the eyes very strong, so it`s easyer and saver to look in the mirrors of the bike.

The mirrors inside the helmet are not realy mirrors, they are made by Polykarbonat (ABS).

I think it`s a nice idea but not realy with a goot function.

Peter.. You have GOT to be kidding!! I would think every motorcyclist on EARTH could use a helmet that allows for perfect rear vision.. especially those of us who have a second sportbike with virtually useless mirrors like my MV.. Would be nice to know when an officer is sneaking up on you.. I'll assume you guys do speed over there... If the Reevu system had actually worked, I would think it would revolutionize the industry... Can you imagine ANY car sold without a rearview mirror? I rest my case...

However...Thanks to the link from ThomasW.. the reviews say it's not what it should be. Thanks T... think I'll wait to see if they upgrade it to a larger mirror system.. Appreciate the feedback, guys...

a helmet is made to give you safety from impacts. it is not, ot should not be, a multi-purpose-tool.

Michael! You should clean your glasses or at least wear the helmet in the right direction (viser to the front!), then you can see the traffic behind CLEARLY..... :aetsch:

Der für mich wichtige Verkehr ist immer vor mir..... also brauch ich diesen Helm nicht.

Falls der Verkehr hinter mir mal wichtig werden sollte, bin ich bestimmt vesehentlich auf dem CSD gelandet....
